Wayne Insurance Group has more than a century of experience in delivering financial security and peace of mind for Ohio’s families, farms and businesses.
Wayne Mutual Insurance Company was formed in 1910 as a mutual protective association by a group of farmers in Wayne County, Ohio. These farmers wanted to insure their homes and barns “against loss by fire, lightning and storm.”
Through the decades, the company has grown from those humble roots. In 1963, the company reorganized into an advance premium mutual and subsequently expanded its personal, farm, and commercial insurance offerings. Ongoing product improvements, enhanced staff and agent training, technology tools and a dedicated customer service team enable the company to provide reliable insurance protection for families and businesses.
The 21st century ushered in a new era of expansion. In 2009, Wayne Mutual affiliated with Washington Mutual Insurance Association, which had been in business since 1878, serving policyholders’ home, farm and property insurance needs. At that time, Wayne Insurance Group was formed. Since then, several other mutual protective associations, including Marion Mutual Insurance Association and Norton Mutual Fire Association have merged into Washington Mutual.
Wayne Insurance Group is proud of its heritage of providing financial security and peace of mind for its policyholders. As new challenges have emerged, and as policyholder needs have changed, our companies have adapted to maintain the highest level of insurance products and services. And with our prompt, fair claims service and support, we remain committed to helping Ohioans recover quickly when losses occur.
